What I collect

When you fill in the form on this site, I collect your first name, last name and email address.My email provider also records whether you open my emails and whether you click the links in them, along with the approximate country you opened them from and the date you subscribed. I use this to know whether what I send is worth sending.

Why I collect it, and what allows me to

To send you the free chapter and occasional emails about the book. You asked for this when you filled in the form, so the legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time and I explain how below.To understand who is reading. If your name and email suggest you work somewhere relevant, I may look you up on a professional network such as LinkedIn, and I may contact you directly about speaking or related work. The legal basis here is my legitimate interests in running the business behind the book. It is not part of what you consented to when you asked for the chapter, which is why I'm telling you plainly. If you’d rather I didn’t, email me and I’ll stop.I don’t sell your details to anyone, ever, and I don’t share them for anyone else’s marketing.

Who else touches your data

MailerLite, based in Lithuania in the EU, stores the list and sends the emails.Carrd, based in the United States, hosts this page and passes what you type in the form to MailerLite. That means your details cross to the US in transit, under the standard contractual protections those services have in place.

How long I keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until you ask me to delete you, or after three years of no opens and no clicks, whichever comes first. After that I remove you.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you what I hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can ask for a copy in a portable format. You can object to the legitimate interests use described above. You can withdraw consent at any time, and every email I send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom.Email [email protected] and I’ll do it. No form, no process.

Complaints

If you think I’ve handled your data badly, tell me first and I’ll try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (Комисия за защита на личните данни), at cpdp.bg.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
